What if I did not receive a tax bill as of yet?

Every effort is made to see that you receive your tax bills.  Tax bills are mailed to the last known mailing address provided to the Treasurer the last week in  January and June. If you do not receive your bill by the middle of February or the middle of July, it is your responsibility to contact our office at 740-373-6623 opt 3 opt 2. Also, a notice will appear in the local paper prior to the due date. Therefore, if you have moved, if your mortgage is paid in full or if your mortgage is sold to another mortgage company, it is the property owner's responsibility under the Ohio Revised Code to contact the Treasurer’s office to advise them of the change in your mailing address to ensure you receive your tax bill.

Even if you did not receive your bill, Section 323.13 of the Ohio Revised Code states that the property owner is responsible for payments (plus any penalties and interest). Failure to receive a bill does not excuse you from paying any penalties or interest. Please contact us if you did not receive your bill or if you have any indication that your tax bill may have been misdirected.
