Board of Health
The Washington County Board of Health is an appointed Board that governs the general health district. The Board consists of five members and an alternate. A physician must be appointed to one of the Board positions. Each member is appointed to a five-year term, with a position becoming open each year. The District Advisory Council makes four of the appointments, and the Licensing Council appoints one member and an alternate.
Board of Health meeting is held on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 P.M. in the Emergency Operations Center on 204 Davis Avenue.
Meetings are open to the public and may be recorded. While there is an open forum for members of the public to address the Board, it is asked that the specific issues that require action be brought to the Health Commissioner or Administrator before the meeting so that items can be scheduled on the meeting agenda.
