Meetings
- 7:00 pm
- Third Monday of each month, except when there is no business to conduct
- When the third Monday falls on a holiday, the meeting is held on the fourth Monday
Agenda Items
Items to be considered by the Planning Commission must be received in the Office of the Washington County Commissioners not later than 5:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month of consideration. If, however, the Planning Commission is scheduled to meet the fourth Monday of the month, agenda items must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of that month. Submission of a request well in advance of the meeting date allows the Planning Commission and County Engineer time to review the request.
Members
The Washington County Planning Commission is made up of 11 members, who serve on a volunteer basis, and are paid for mileage only. Those 11 members consist of the three County Commissioners and eight residents of the County who are appointed by the County Commissioners to serve three-year terms. The County Engineer serves as a non-voting member in an advisory capacity.
Responsibilities
The Planning Commission is responsible for the approval of all subdivisions in Washington County, and any right-of-way for access across private property. You may view or download the subdivision regulations (PDF) online
